Great grill June 11, 2008 C. Estrella (boston, ma) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this grill for father's day and it has been a great improvement over the old grill I had. Like the other reviewers, it took me about an hour and a half to assemble the grill (that was with a couple beer breaks.)
It lights every time right away and with all four burners it gets very hot, very fast. The grilling space is huge. The flame is low so the fire doesn't jump up and burn the meat (like my old grill did.) I thought this came with a 5th burner but that is the 4200 model. I don't care though because I wouldn't use it anyway. Overall, I am very happy.
HORIBLE!!! May 22, 2008 Michael Peluso 1 out of 17 found this review helpful
I've been an Amazon shopper for years, and was very excited to get this grill. I did a Ton of research both in to pricing and the grill itself.
I did very quickly, which was great. Memorial day was approaching. However, as I started to put it together, I noticed a HUGE DENT in the lid. It will cost me a ridiculous amount of money to ship it back to Amazon, so I am stuck with a brand new DENTED grill.
If I knew it would have arrived dented I would have bought it from my local hardware store, and pay the $60 in shipping.
An Amazon Best Buy Grill for $400.00 July 15, 2007 Professional Negotiator (New Jesrey) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Excellent name brand gas grill and easy to assemble with all parts included. Ducane is owned by Weber so enough said about the grill quality... A-.
Since we do not use a side burner or a rotisserie we opted to purchase this four (4) burner gas grill without either option. This was the ONLY four (4) burner gas grill with a 526 sq. inch primary cooking area for less than $400.00. The Amazon price was $399.00 with a $0.01 shipping charge.
Amazon's shipping company was excellent. The shipping company arrived at the scheduled day and time and the oversized box arrived in excellent condition.
With all four burners going simultaneously, you can easily cook enough food for the entire neighborhood and in less time than you can call them to eat.
I would definitely buy this grill again !
Great Price and Best Grill July 6, 2007 SHumenan (Mobile, AL) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
When I offered to buy a Ducane grill for my husband, he was excited like it was Christmas. Then, when I told him it what it would cost, he praised my shopping skills. We grill at least once a week and are Very Happy Customers!!!!
Excellent Style, Quality, Value! July 5, 2007 T. I. Farmer (Edmonds, WA United States) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
The Ducane lineup has changed for 2007 as the Weber people acquired Ducane and are positioning it as their "budget" line. Fear not, though -- I think there is more value in the Ducane grills than in the Weber mid-priced grills. This is a heavy stainless-steel unit with four fast-heating burners underneath plenty of grill area. The grill is made and packed in China; assembly took about two hours, everything was packed carefully and the text-free graphic directions were OK. No plastic fixtures or handles -- everything is stainless or heavy-gauge sheet metal. The electronic igniter works well almost every time. Fire up all four burners, close the lid for ten minutes, and watch OUT -- the inside temp (as shown by the thermometer on the lid) will zoom past 600 degrees and you are ready for searing. Great big potentiometers on the burner controls mean you can control the heat very well. Cleanup isn't bad at all -- the Weber-based drip control system uses four metal plates shaped like little house roofs to reflect heat and vaporize liquids and food scraps, and if you jack the heat up to full for ten minutes after you cook, all you're left with is ash residue. I'm proud to have the grill on my deck, it looks and performs great, and considering how quickly you can spend $1000 in this product segment, I think the Ducane 4100 is really good value at the price.
